April 26 Crisis Response Impact Report

As we close this new year, we pause to reflect and honour the lives lost, the families still healing, and the ongoing impact of the tragic events of April 26, 2025, on our community. Together, we continue to honour the victims and their families in community-centred ways, holding their memory close as we move forward.

Following the tragedy, our community was forced to confront grief, trauma, and systems not always designed with us in mind. In response, Filipino BC and its partners mobilized quickly, guided by the value of kapwa and trauma-informed practice, with leadership from community members who refused to let anyone struggle alone.

In our commitment to transparency and accountability, we are releasing The April 26, 2025 Impact Report: "The Story of Kapwa." This report reflects the sustained care, resilience, and support that community members received after the tragedy. Most importantly, it tells the story of how the community came together—how you showed up for one another when it mattered most.
