If you’re struggling with these heartbreaking events, know that you’re not alone. The temporary Resilience Centre will take care of dinner for you, your family and friends, while you rest in the company of the community. You may choose not to talk to counsellors and social workers on site, and that’s perfectly fine. Some guests visit for a few minutes, others stay all night. You choose what’s right for you in the moment, whether it’s a teddy bear, a therapy dog, laughs with loved ones, mental health resources or other care.
The Resilience Centre reopens Friday, May 9 at Killarney Secondary School from 5 PM to 8 PM. Additional hours for next week will be announced soon.
The Canadian Red Cross has launched the 2025 Vancouver Lapu Lapu Festival Appeal to support individuals, families and communities impacted by the tragedy that occurred on April 26, 2025.
Funds raised through this appeal will go directly towards responding to the immediate and emerging needs of individuals and families, as well as help support their recovery.
Filipino BC is working closely with the Canadian Red Cross, the City of Vancouver, Government of British Columbia, and other community partners to ensure meaningful support in the weeks and months ahead.
