Filipino BC Board Chair RJ Aquino Named to Vancouver Magazine’s 2026 Power 50 List

FEBRUARY 6, 2026

Filipino BC’s Board Chair, RJ Aquino, has been named to Vancouver Magazine’s 2026 Power 50 List, which recognizes 50 of the city’s most influential and impactful leaders across politics, arts, activism, business, philanthropy, and community leadership.

Each year, Vancouver Magazine’s Power 50 List celebrates individuals whose work shapes the social, cultural, and economic life of the city. The honourees are recognized at an annual awards presentation that also inducts a new class into the magazine’s Hall of Fame, spotlighting leaders whose contributions continue to move Vancouver forward.

Aquino’s inclusion on the 2026 Power 50 List reflects his leadership and long-standing commitment to advancing equity, community wellbeing, and culturally grounded advocacy. As Chair of Filipino BC, which organizes the annual Lapu Lapu Day Festival, Aquino played a pivotal public-facing role in amplifying the grief, urgent needs, and concerns of the community following the April 26 tragedy—helping bring visibility to issues. Their leadership has been instrumental in supporting community-led crisis responses, strengthening collaboration across sectors, and advancing initiatives that centre the voices, safety, and lived experiences of Filipinx/a/o communities across the region.

“Being recognized alongside so many inspiring leaders is truly an honour,” said Aquino. “This recognition belongs to the community members, organizers, and frontline workers who show up every day to support one another and build a more just and inclusive city.”

Filipino BC extends its congratulations to all of the 2026 Power 50 List honourees and looks forward to celebrating their collective impact at the upcoming awards event.
