A glimpse into what will be available for Lapu Lapu Day of Togetherness
Lapu Lapu Day of Togetherness is almost here — and we want you to know what to expect. Here is a glimpse of some of what will be available on the day.
A space to share a meal, exchange stories, access resources, and simply exist in community together. There is no pressure to perform, participate in any particular way, or stay longer than feels right. You are welcome to show up exactly as you are, at the pace that works for you.
Community organizations, cultural groups and resources Throughout the day, community organizations, cultural groups, and resource groups will be exhibiting across the space — bringing supports, services, and care directly to you. Whether you are looking for something specific or just want to know what is available, there will be people and organizations ready to connect with you.
Community engagement for all ages The KAPWA Centre and other community engagement activations will be running throughout the day, offering meaningful ways to connect across generations. There is something for everyone — from little ones to elders — woven into the fabric of the day.
Our outdoor Relax & Connect Lounge Sometimes you just need to breathe. Our outdoor lounge is a low-pressure space where you can read a book, try some crafts, or simply be in community without any expectations. Pull up a chair. Stay a while. Or just pass through.
Low Sensory Space with Live Educate Transform Society (LET'S) If you need somewhere quiet to land, we invite you to visit our friends at Live Educate Transform Society (LET'S) at the KAPWA Centre. They will be offering a Low Sensory Space — a specially designed environment that welcomes everyone, and especially neurodivergent folks including people with ADHD, autism, sensory processing differences, anxiety, depression, and other mental health experiences. You do not need to explain yourself to use this space. It is simply there for you.
Healing is not linear. This day was designed with that in mind — as an invitation to come together with care, and continue the shared work of healing in ways that feel safe, respectful, and supportive.
Come as you are, at the pace that works for you. You belong here. You are not alone.
